I have over 30 years of teaching experience in the Seattle area.  I enjoy working with students of all ages, from young beginners to adults. Whether you are a beginner or have previous experience playing the flute, I am able to help you become more accomplished and enjoy playing the flute with greater ease.

Lesson length varies depending on age and ability (30, 45 or 60 minute lessons) and are held weekly at my home studio in NE Seattle or via Zoom if you prefer.

I tailor my lessons to the individual's needs recognizing that everyone has different aspirations and motivations for 

studying the flute.  For the more competitive student who desires to pursue flute performance at the college level,

I adhere to a conservatory approach of teaching the flute repertoire concentrating on the classics of the flute literature

and etudes.  I focus on developing tone, articulation, interpretation, technique and rhythmic integrity.  I am able to help my students prepare for the Horsfall Competition, Seattle Young Artist Music festival and solo & ensemble festival at the middle and high school level. For students enrolled in band or orchestra or youth symphonies, I am available to coach you on preparing for playing exams, challenges and auditions.
